US Accuses Iran of Supplying Missiles to Russia for Ukraine War
Washington: The United States has formally accused Iran of supplying short-range ballistic missiles to Russia for its war in Ukraine. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during a visit to London with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, stated that Russia has received shipments of these missiles and may use them in Ukraine within weeks.
Blinken emphasized that the supply allows Russia to strike targets further from the front line, focusing on Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure. Both Blinken and Lammy condemned Iran’s increasing support for Russia, describing it as a significant escalation. Blinken also announced upcoming sanctions on Iran for its actions, while Lammy highlighted the joint commitment to countering Iran’s destabilizing activities. Both officials will visit Ukraine to discuss ongoing support for the country amidst Russia’s intensified attacks.
